Nguna Cup Kick Off Match Halted After Gullible Referee Allows An Offside Goal

The Annual Mwingi West Member of Parliament sponsored Cup Tournament kicked off last week with various matches across the constituency.

The soft-spoken Member of Parliament Cup tournament is critically established to exterminate crime, drug abuse, illiteracy levels among the region’s young and talented youth.

The 20th edition kicked off on 15th November 2021. Our focus was obviously on Talanta Fc where Harambee Stars boy Erick Zakayo aka Di Maria plays alongside other similar and talented lads.

Talanta FC suffered a narrow defeat during a match that ended prematurely in the 80th-minute following a controversial goal scored by their opponents Mwingi Junior Stars (MJS).

The Mwingi Central-based team netted the first goal of the match in the early minutes that was canceled by Erick Dimari’s strike on the 43rd minute after a fine piece of assist from John Mwinzi.

The second half saw Talanta FC enjoy most of the possession with a disappointing offside goal from the Mwingi Junior stars in the 80th minute leading to the cancellation of a spectacular match with over 300 attendance surrounding the pitch.

Mwingi Junior Stars have since been accused of playing someone from Mwingi West, against the rules of the tournament and therefore, faces disciplinary action or disqualification from the tournament.

The same fate looms for the side’s linesman who is reported to have come from the same region for allowing what was evidently an offside goal according to reports.

From the performances of Talanta Fc Players, the goalscorer had an outstanding game together with the team’s ever-valuable playmaker John Mwinzi.  We also noted the presence of Patrick Nguli alias Partie, Erick Katingi, and the great Goalkeeping of Rodgers Kavindu aka Matasi.
