The ambitious County Government of Kitui under the conscious and transformational leadership of HE Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu has launched Sh 180 Million Kitui County Empowerment Fund in Kyuso Ward, Mwingi North Subcounty.

This is a great milestone aimed at magnificently uplifting the communities as anchored in her Manifesto’s fourth and fifth pillars on women empowerment and wealth creation respectively across the county.

The fund is set to benefit organized groups; the women, youth, SACCOs, self-help groups, disability organizations, and welfare associations in an effort to boost enterprises and businesses’ growth.

“I promised to empower women in my manifesto. am happy that has come to a reality. That is what we have come to do today”. reiterated Ngilu.

The Governor was hosted by her deputy Dr. Wathe Nzau, CECM’s; Esther Kilonzi -Trade, Stephen Kyalo Watutu -Roads, Patrick Koki Kuvasila -Environment, Tourism, and Natural Resources and all Mwingi North MCA’s led by the area Ward Rep and Majority Whip Stephen Musili Kivunzi.

The event was attended by hundreds of residents in adherence to Covid-19 health rules and regulations.
