Governor Ngilu Asks Kitui Residents To Upgrade From KCHIC to The NHIF Cover Partially Paid By Her Administration

Her Excellency Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu has urged Kitui Citizenry to strictly adhere to the Ministry of Health set guidelines on countering Covid-19 Virus.

Speaking at the ACK St. Martins Cathedral Church in Kitui Town, She said that the Virus is very lethal to the human body, and everyone should be cautious on who and how to interact with, people who aren’t adhering to the Covid-19 Protocols.

She also called upon those who haven’t been vaccinated, to turn out to their nearest health facility to get vaccinated, for her Government has rolled out a mass vaccination drive for all Kitui County residents.

The Governor further urged Musangi to upgrade from Kitui County Health Insurance Cover KCHIC to the National Hospital Insurance Fund NHIF, where her Government has introduced a fifty-fifty cost-sharing formula, for the yearly subscription.

The deal will see a family paying three thousand Shillings and the Governor pays the other three thousand, which will have all family members receiving healthcare services everywhere in the Country where the bills will be footed by the cover.

She said that her aim is offering quality and affordable healthcare to all, as it is outlined in her Governments agenda number two of Healthcare.

The NHIF Cover offers extensive healthcare services from the existing KCHIC.
