Governor Joho Declares Bid to Run For President in 2022 on ODM Ticket

Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho has officially declared interest to vie for the presidency in the coming general elections in 2022.

Governor Joho joined active politics back in 2004, becoming the Kisauni Chairman for the then Liberal Democratic Party for a year between 2006 and 2007.

With overwhelming support, Ali Hassan Joho clinched the Kisauni Member of parliament seat through Raila Odinga’s ODM party in 2007.

Double blessings knocked when the newly elected Kisauni MP got appointed as the Assistant Minister for Transport during the same era.

March the 4th 2013, the people of Mombasa County voted in Ali Hassan Joho as their Governor for a period of 5 years before doubling the reign in 2017 when he flawed his close competitor with 132,583 votes followed by Mr. Shahbal with 94,905 votes.

Governor Joho is currently the undisputed Coastal political kingpin and has now announced his bid for the 2022 presidential elections.
